La Nuit De L'homme Cologne by Yves Saint Laurent, La Nuit De L'Homme is a men’s woody spicy cologne with aromatic, warm spicy, fresh spicy, woody, and floral main accords. Launched in 2009, this fragrance was developed by perfumers Anne Flipo, Dominique Ropion, and Pierre Wargnye of International Flavors and Fragrances. The cardamom top note leads to the lavender, bergamot, and Virginia cedar middle notes. Caraway and vetiver base notes close this arrangement. Best for fall and winter evening wear, this scent has moderate sillage and long-lasting longevity.
Yves Saint Laurent started his fashion career as Christian Dior’s assistant. Four years later, Laurent, age 21 at the time, was named head of the house of Dior after Dior’s death. Laurent was drafted into the French army in 1960 and was hospitalized after suffering harassment from fellow soldiers. At the same time, he was fired from Dior but successfully sued for breach of contract. He and his partner opened the fashion house, which gained fame quickly due to trends such as the beatnik look, tight trousers, safari jackets, thigh-high boots, and tuxedo suits for women. The first fragrance was launched in 1964, and L’Oreal holds the fragrance license.
